Porkio,
The way I see it is like this...
I can't stand what we're doing in Iraq and despise the fact that we went in there and possibly hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis were killed. As a matter of fact I can't stand our government because of that act.
Were we supposedly trying to rid the area of Al Qaeda and Funky Bunch? Yes... and in the eyes of millions that was a noble and just cause.
I just never agreed with the US policies and I certainly don't see Al Qaeda as a better option... I don't feel like I
have to pick a side here.
Well the same holds true for my feelings in this Israel / Lebanon thing.
I don't have to pick a side.
Of course I don't agree with Hezbollah but I don't agree with the Israeli response either and I don't have to.
When the story first broke I had heard that it was Israeli soldiers who crossed into Lebanon but later it was reported just the opposite. Apparently the first story came from the Lebanese police so make of that what you will.
The chicken... the egg... whatever. That's insignificant to me at this point.
What concerns me the most here is that we're going to use this as a vehicle to Iran, Syria or both.
Coincidently, a couple of months ago, they raised the enlistment age to 42 which means I could now be subjected to a draft and it should come to no surprise to anyone that if we get into it with Iran or Syria, there most likely will be a draft.
Didn't they just come out yesterday and state that we have no standing division here at home?
I suppose you could say that I've become anti-war and I don't care who's attacking who.
That's why I don't care about this Israeli thing... I don't
have to support either side.
Finally, it's funny how so much of our world has turned into Black and White.
I remember a time of color and a shit-load of grey area...
