LP's were cool
something to look at, if you had a yard or two
then a stack of discs took over, lots of jam space on short shelves,
instead of flipping LP's you could play both sides at once, even lay out the cash for a 5 cd changer
or a robot that held a hundred of your favorite cd's, and for about $100 each it might play you one.
Now comes IPOD, good thing is no moving parts, problem is, no one is on the go,
in fact, I want my music to sit there on the shelf so I can not listen to it at will,
and when I do I want a screen that will read out clearly and stay put if I touch it.
Start a company that makes a cd storage system that is about the size and shape of an old VCR
and you'd have a product for the future.

They're out there.
More expensive than
I wanted to pay.
I'm glad Peeps talked
me into using iTunes
on my computer.
Got a pair of wireless
speakers and there's
wattage all through
the cottage.

Between the computer
speakers, one wireless
in the living room and
the other in the kitchen
(both set to mono) the
whole Mini Mansion
was fulla music.

57 days worth of
music takes up
32 gigs of hardon
drive space.

That's pretty sophisticated, I don't need all the zones.
I'm thinking about getting a junk computer and loading all my music in and use the TV screen for a monitor
either that or an IPOD like yours with a dock.

All you need is an iBook with iTunes and an apple airport express. You could probably find a used one for cheap on eBay. What makes the express so cool is it streams your music wirelessly from the laptop to the stereo, so that way you don't have to settle for shitty computer speakers, and that way your music collection doesn't even have to be in the same room as the stereo. I'll usually set up a playlist in the other room when people are over and it plays in the living room with no cables. You can get within 150 feet and it plays fine.

It's the only way to satisfy your party guests with good sound and all the variety needed for all party music requirements.
I have it set up at home and my home away from home.

I bought some Acoustic
Research 900 Mhz wireless
spkrs. If I want tuneage
outside I just unplug one
and run an extension cord.
They go for cheap on eBay.
I had one hidden under the
sleep sofa in the living room
and the other on top of the
kitchen cabinets. Once I had
the volume roughly balanced
where ever you went there
was music.
And the Mini Mansion ain't
'zactly small, neither.

Once you get iTunes,
this is slick to have:

He only started messing with iTunes to shut me up about it -- and even then, he only tried it out begrudgingly.
Now he's all about it. Got bent outta shape 'cause the iPod wouldn't work in my broken car lighter yesterday and wanted to Jimmy-rig it to my dome light.
