Louched Liver
4 to 1.
Yes.
Cold and slow.

Use ice cold water. Like Liver said four parts water to one part absinthe is pretty standard, but feel free to adjust it to your own preference. Since I'm an ugly American, I use a little less water and throw in a cube or two of ice. This practice horrifies the snitty Euro-Fags and purists from H5, but with non-vintage commercial absinthes, I don’t see how it matters. Play with ratios, sugar or no sugar and see what tastes best to you.
Porkio
Duplais is best at 4 to 4:5 to 1. Any less and it tastes too grassy. Throw an ice cube in there, it doesn't hurt it. If ice cold water doesn't hurt the absinthe, a cube a few degress colder isn't going to harm it. Plus, who wants to drink warm absinthe?
G&C
That seems to depend on my mood.
Stroller
I still need to try the second Duplais run, I wasn't impressed with the first.

And the snitty Euro-Fags from over 'ere as well wave.gif . Bonus.

The whole "an ice cube will damage your glass of absinthe" theory is BS as far as I can tell. The freezing point of anethole (59F) is well above the temp of cold ice water, so there is little distinction, if any, between adding iced water vs. an ice cube to a glass of absinthe. Why is one OK but the other not OK?

G&C
Because it's fine to make the drink any way one likes.

It's only fucking booze and herbs.

I saw some jackasses drinking good HG straight over ice the other day.

My urge was to kill.
However, it was their drink, not mine.

I only maimed them.
Stroller
Better ice than sugar.
G&C
That's why they got away with only a maiming.
Kirk
Absinthe on the Rocks.
Le Gimp
I often add a small ice cube to the absinthe in a glass while I'm waiting for the water to chill so I can add it. I've never seen any adverse effect in doing so.

Plunger
As soon as absinthe get any warmer than ice cold, it becomes kinda gross; I have no problem adding ice(and I cum from H5).
mthuilli
Why the fuck are you talkin' 'bout absinthe here ? go to WS if you want to talk about absinthe !
G&C
I thought they just keep welcoming and kissing each others ass over every little bit of life.

"Bla, bla, bla. . . "

Missing Worm Woodstock are you.

A little bit of me dies every day I'm not allowed to participate there.
Kirk
Ha!
Sure it does.
greeneyes
I've seen two people put ice in their wine lately. One glass of white and one red. This shocked me. Am I snitty or late on a trend?
Grey Boy
I would be snitty in that situation.
A.B. Normal
Agreed.
Even in the desert, I've never had a problem.

Late on the snitty trend, but welcome nevertheless. But you've always been a closet snit, haven't you?

greeneyes
I have been closeted even to myself.
Wild Bill Turkey
Sorry to mention absinthe and all, but I feel I have to say something about how goddamned good the Duplais Balance is. I mean look at that color. And smell the bottle when you first open it. I'm just sayin, is all. They're getting good at this
Crosby
I'll have to give it a shot then.
Speedle
I swear to god it's my next order.
justabob
Nope, I don't care how good the stuff is, I'm not gonna convert my dollars to Euros.
G&C
Or Pounds.
TheGreenOne
The dollar is getting Pounded, not the Euro.
Kirk
We're hammered.
