Full Version: I done broke me a new one
I had a guy over yesterday doing repair and PM on my heat pumps. As he was reciting his company's charges for his services, I lamented that I had just ordered a bottle of absinthe that day.
He remarked, " Absinthe! I just saw a TV program called Modern Marvels on the History Channel about that stuff!"
He told me stories about seeing people drinking stuff in the Mediterranean, while in the Navy; and how they were warned not to drink the stuff 'cause it contained opium.
I debunked the usual myths and told him that I had some absinthe from that same distillery he had seen on TV.
He was enthused to try some. So, after he completed his work; I gave him a small glass ( have to be stingy since the US $ has been in the toilet, especially since Nov. 7th)
He seemed to enjoy it, but the cost seemed to scare him off.
With the check I wrote to his company
, he could've bought 2 or 3 bottles
