The stuff is a miracle cure, also called bone set, it's a hardy perennial.
A strong tea can be made and the injured area soaked in it. In the winter you can dig up the roots and slice them up, apply directly for 15 or 20 minutes or as long as you can stand it, hot. The leaves are also used as a poultice with the tea.
