I thought everything was black and white back then.
That's what my Grandma told me.
At $5 a roll, I can see why she told you that.
I was told the world was in black & white until 1953.

The invention of color was a happy byproduct of the research in the Manhattan Project. Once color was discovered, people started right away trying to develop film that could photograph it.
It's a good thing they did that.
