Long time lurker, first time poster (love your show, big fan)

After a year's hiatus from patrolling the various absinthe forums, I returned to my lurking duties to find the landscape drastically different. Where once people roamed freely across the different sites, leading to dynamic, albeit sometimes angry discussions (esp. here), now it seems that by and large you've all retreated to your corners where most of the time is spent with the like-minded. Only occasionally does someone cross to another board, and even then they seem to be on their best behavior. While I understand that constant bickering and continually rehashing the same arguments are both annoying ultimately futile, it would be a shame to see the absinthe community divide into cliques. Seriously, the WS seems to have turned itself into a gated community.

I'm wondering if this is the result of a dust-up I missed or just a natural evolution.

Or it could not be case at all and I'm simply imagining sects and fences between them.

Or it could be the case, but being a newbie to the community its not yet any of my damn business, and somebody just needs to slap me down.

Yeah but there is still a lot of cross over. I haven't been kicked out of polite society yet, amazingly enough and I see some of us there. I also see some of us at FV. Still, within this very small and particularly eclectic subculture, we do have our schisms.

Last bottle (to my shame over 4 months ago) was BdF.

Just placed an order for the new Jade PF1901 and the Blanchette. I normally stay on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but I'm sharing the Jade with my father over the holidays so I figured I splurge
