You can rag on me all you want, but nothing you can say will punish me more than what I have already endured.

My wife really loved Legally Blonde, and as I was wandering Blockbuster, I saw #2 (oh, how appropriate) and bought it for my wife. We watched it tonight.

OH MY GOD, THAT WAS AWFUL!

IT'S TOO LATE FOR ME, SAVE YOURSELVES!

For all the bad movies I have seen with women, only two were so bad the it made them apologize to me for having made me watch it with them.
CelticGent
after i suffered through the 1st one trying to figure out why it was a hit, i don't even want to THINKof the sequel.

hmm, i have seen SO many horrible movies so I can't pick just one.

but i'd have to say the one that i was looking forward to the most that i couldn't force myself to watch more than 30 minutes of is The Avengers.

The only film I ever walked out on without giving it a second chance was:

The Gong show Movie.

My god, It was horrible.

I can't believe that any of you heretofore intelligent-seeming people had the poor judgment to even think about seeing any of those movies.

Made my eyes bleed and stold 10 IQ points from me.

To tell you how bad it was, the movie was free.

Sometimes you have to put up with what the (now ex) girlfriend, wants to see.

The popcorn wasn't bad. post-6-1069831687.gif

If they even make a feature film based on SNL's "Goat Boy" sketch, it would be be the worst film possible within the limits of human creativity.

I was at one of the test screenings for Terminator 2. Walked out. That has to rank up there.

anything with Jim Carrey in it (other than The Truman Show, that was ok)
Crosby
Being Human. Robin williams worst, and I worked on the fucker. At least the checks cleared.

This one technically belongs in the famous people thread, but since you mention that dickhead, I'll unload here.

We're trying to complete his next movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and there's this scene where Kirsten Dunst & Mark Ruffalo are jumping on a bed together in their underwear (yes, Kirsten Dunst in her underwear!), with a White Stripes song playing in the background. Well Jim Carrey's current girlfriend used to date the singer for the White Stripes, Jack White, and she hates him now, so when Jim Carrey screened a rough cut of the film, he said they had to take out the White Stripes song, otherwise he'd refuse to do any promotions or interviews for the movie.

And he's also demanding we change several scenes in the final cut. That'd be OK except HE"S NOT THE FUCKING DIRECTOR. Luckily the movie is really good, and can't be ruined by a few cuts, but Jim Carrey is an obnoxious egomaniac.

ugh, The Avengers is one of my benchmarks for rotten.
Sean Connery must have owed someone a big favor!
My other benchmark for horrible is Batman & Robin.
The common thread being Uma Thurman, but I think it was
way more than her that went wrong with both these movies.

Yeah, Independance Day sucked. My friend Keith yelled "On St. Crispin's Day" at the end of the speech the prez ripped off from Shakespeare, and when it was over my friend Simon turned to me, unsmiling, and said "I...want to RIOT right now."

But to me, the worst thing that ever happened on the screen was Highlander II: The Quickening.

Chop and i have pretty similar tastes in a lot of stuff. With movies, unless we both really want to see something, we generally fail to get off our butts and do it.

And while I have seen some kinda dumb movies at female instigation, I don't think I've ever seen anything the likes of the ones listed. I tend not to go for girls with bad taste. This is why I didn't get much action in college.

have you ever worked in thailand, and if so, can you do the ping-pong trick as well?
lambchop
Ick.
Just say no to ping pong balls.
Celty! Where in the hell have you been all morning, big guy?
I was getting scared sitting at the kids' table all by myself.
CelticGent
at the doctor's getting a full physical. i just started with a new one, so they made me do all the tests. fun.

plus the 18 inches of snow we got last night slowed things down a little. not much, because the plow guys did a pretty good job, but the roads are still greasy.

thanks for asking, Lammy.

how's you & Sheepster doing?
lambchop
Right peachy, thanks.

One of the worst movies ever:

Waiting for Guffman

My brother in law made my wife and I watch that one. It was wretched.

No way! Justin!
Waiting for Guffman is one of the funniest movies ever.
Of course, you are entitled to your opinion....
(I usually agree with you too)
Justin
My brother in law has been in a lot of plays, so I guess he has some empathy with the characters, or something.

But I saw it, and went, "Huh? This is humor?"

My wife thought the same, and wondered how the hell her brother found it amusing.

I can think of plenty of other aweful movies. Far more than I can think of truly great movies.

'Dancer in the Dark' was so bad that it made me angry.

In fact, it's making me angry now, just thinking about it.

I'm chiming in with Lambchop here: Waiting for Guffman is very funny. I don't think it's Christopher Guest's BEST but it is funny.

I liked them both too.
The only thing about Dancer in the Dark that was lame was the completely underdevloped relationship between Bjork and her son. We're supposed to believe she dies for him, even though we see them on screen together like once?
sheepprofessor
The only thing not wrong with Dancer in the Dark was the acting, which was fine, and in some cases quite good.

The plot was stupid and over the top, designed to bring the viewer to some emotional catharsis of hand-wringing and pity, but only made me feel slightly ill. The self-conscious 'artiness' was aimed squarely at middle-aged housewives who don't actually like movies that challenge them too much but want to feel like they are living on the edge. And the song-and-dance numbers would have been fine as music videos, but were completely out of place plunked into the middle of the film. They fit into the story about as well as a tumor fits in a brain.

Uggh. Lars ought to have his artistic lisence revoked.
Gertz

In that, I do agree.

Apart from that, I liked the film quite a lot, though it is far from being his best. His "The Idiots" is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

I liked it. I call it KQLG, the Musical. (KQLG is the radio station back home that plays all the pop songs from the 80's)

My roomate calls it "Every song I ever hated from the 80's sung by Ewen McGregor"

Either way, I still liked it. The only thing it lacked was death and violence, and maybe Ernest.
Felis Catus
Death and Violence in Moulin Rouge:

"The Sparkling Diamond" dies of consumption, and before that the evil count
tries to have his way with her.

The attempted shooting near the end, even though the bullet ricochets off the Eiffel Tower.
Felis Catus
I loved Best of Show and Waiting For Guffman.

Returning to worst movies, most sequels are awful. And often the worst movies will
have the most sequels.Rocky,anyone?
