My wife's mother passed away last Wednesday.
Her sister (Frances) had the Power of attorney and make a complete ass of herself at the funeral. The MIL (Elsie) wished to have Sister Nihla give the Eulogy at the funeral.
When Vickie (my wife) told Frances (her sister) about it Frances stated "NO! That is not going to happen." It ended up being Frances's pastor speaking along with another pastor from the Church of God of Wat___a.
They never really mentioned Elsie. There was no eulogy at all. What a bunch of fucking dick heads!
Her father was supposed to move in with Frances at the farm when Elsie passed. Frances told him he would have to stay at home and he couldn't drive any more.
She told Vickie that he would get in the way at the farm and might get hurt.
I expect to bury him within a year.
Tuesday when I went too see a riding buddy of mine at the hospital (he was supposed to have a colostomy reversed). I was asked to go out to the waiting area to join the family. They were disconnecting the life support equipment when I arrived. They buried him Thursday.

Sorry to hear you're going through all of that. It seems bad stuff happens in waves. Good luck getting through it.

Sorry Gimp, I hope you all get it sorted.
I see it coming with my asspipe brother.
My parents death will be all about him,
it's sad how people make everything about them.
I hope I die in the woods and no one finds me.

It's sad that a death can bring out the worst in a family just when its members need each other most. It's hard to deal with someone being hurtful when you're already hurting.
That's an awful lot to bear, all at once. I truly hope you are giving yourself plenty of time and permission.
I am sorry for your loss.

Life sucks and then you die.
Or your ride, brew and do what you enjoy while you can.
Be well.
