I'm thinking this is one of Phil's:

I think you are right, reminds me when one guy got the repro Tarragona's, and nailed another French collector, who thankfully out bid me.
Then the seller e-mailed me offering me another, which I passed on......a few days later SC started offering the glasses.
Has any one compared one of Phils Pontarlier's, with an orig?

Phil's repros look nice, but I don't think they'll compare to an antique Pontarlier.

Yes, it's not very polite to serve absinthe from a set of Flintstone jelly jars.

I haven't gone after an original Pontarlier, yet.
I was curious to see a side by side comparison.
I would guess that originals would be heavier glass, if going by the Lyonais I have, is any indication.

The antique Pontarlier I have is not particularly heavy, especially compared to my other antique absinthe glasses (Choppe Yvonne, East glass, Mazagran)...

I would guess that bar glasses are heavier than absinthe glasses meant for home use. I have an etched Cordon that is made of comparatively thin glass.

I guess I've been stupid & naive all along. Here I am, putting so much work & thought into my eBay auctions, trying to give the buyer as complete a picture of the item as I can.
When really, all I have to do is HAVE an auction. Don't need to state WHAT I'm selling. Don't need to describe it. Don't need to tell people what they'll get. Just include the word ABSINTHE/Filterated Czeckerland Xit & they'll buy.
I'm so dumb.
