I am entiredly too interested in this stuff for my own good, as it will take at least three or four more purse snatchings before I can afford a bottle of good stuff. Even then the monies will probably be sucked up my my debilitating Heron ediction. I figgered I would post here instead of the other forums because I am deathly allergic to hawaiian shirts and turtle necks.
Check out drinkupny.com for Lucid. It is a pretty decent introductory absinthe at $60 a pop. They are out of stock, but taking pre-orders and expect a new shipment any day.

There are some members here, with reputations and a sense for what's good absinthe and what's crap, that like Lucid.
There are other members, with the same qualifications, that think it's worthless.
I think for $60 shipped in the US it's hard to beat.

I understand the Can-o-Worms, however I call them as I see them.
I'd rather send someone new to Lucid than have them spend twice the amount on something only to find out that they don't like the 'Licorice Tasting Crap' any way.

I think it's OK as long as you drink it fast. I think it gets worse with age.
I've got about 1/5 of a bottle left.
It's about a month old.
