Even if it was a real I'll never pay this price for this ugly spoon!!!

I wouldn't pay that price for any spoon. I was just wondering if it actually held that value for collectors.

I dunno ... maybe I'm Jade- the only REAL Burnt™ absinthed, but that spoon looks a little too new, if you know what I mean.
And even if it was new, it sure ain't worth the coin.

Like I said somewhere, how about some absinthe over ice cream? I say
chocolate mint.And yeah,the cheaper quality stuff,not fudgierolls.
Just playin' around. But why the hell not?If they can put Grand Marnier
over vanilla ice cream and strawberries(yummy)why not dribble a little
absinthe ove ice cream?
What can I say?It is midnight here and I am craving both ice cream and absinthe.
Sleep is nowhere in sight,so why not at least dream?
And those glasses do look like sundae glasses.

Word on this particular seller is that he is one of the best & very reputable on absinthe antiques. If he says it's legit, it is almost certainly the real deal.
He had some sets last month that I wish I could have afforded. Each one had a Belle Epoque glass, spoon, topette, saucer & 100ml of 1979 Swiss LaBleue. Unfortunately they also each had a $300 + reserve. I know they were worth it, I just don't have $300 for absinthe antiques right now.
I'm almost tempted on those glasses....

I purchased my antique Pontarlier glass from the same vendor. Very reputable and great to deal with...

I also purchased a reservoir glass from him as well. Excellent dealer. If these are items he has that he's willing to part with, I wonder just what exactly he has that's not for sale? I bet he has some real lovelies...

I thought that the vendor looked reputable and the spoons/glasses seemed authentic enough. Good feedback for the vendor on ebay too.
Still wouldn't shell out 200 bucks for a spoon though. The glasses are tempting.
Also, I'm not sure why I started this thread under Commercial Sources. Noticed afterwards that I was in the wrong section. Ooops.

Interesting on the F. Pernod fountains, as Felix Pernod is a Pastis, although the items associated with it are still fairly rare.
