I hope it's as
disturbing as
the original and
I hope, and I bet
Haneke does too,
that Normals get
suckered into
seeing it and it
ruins their world
for a bit.

Asian Terror Theater.
Like the ol' French Grand Guignol.
I have checked it, it is Japan Horror Theater. Consists of three movies: Infection, Premonition and Reincarnation (is being downloaded).
Kairo was excellent, but more on the psychological side and with beautifully shot abandoned places where simply nothing had really happened, at the first look.

Hope it's better than the remake of The Wicker Man.

I would have enjoyed living on that island and raising a few bees.

Just finished
Benny's Video
by Haneke.
Not as good as
Funny Games,
but then, not
much is.

Nobody talked about the music in Funny Games, the only music in the movie (apart from Mozart at the beginning).
I recognized John Zorn at the first note, only Zorn can make such a deranged music (Naked City).
As for the movie itself, it made me think that "Them" is still my number one as the most stressful movie I've ever seen.
I'm still curious to see the remake though, would like to see how Haneke can recreate such a "realistic" atmosphere. I can't see it possible to be honest.

I finally got around to renting this movie. It did absolutely nothing for me. I made myself stick through it, waiting for the good part. or the scary part. or the interesting part.
I guess I'm jaded.
For those of you that were frightened by it, there's good reason. A couple years ago something very similar happened here to a wonderfully kind family. I'm very sure the shitbags who did it gave some sob story about a broken down car or something, and were invited in. Then, I'm sure they followed all of the killers orders with promises of being left alive. Mom, Dad, two lovely young daughters now gone.
I hope they never make a movie about it.
The last movie that scared the bejeezus out of me was "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer". That was about 10yrs ago. After that one, I made sure all the doors and windows were locked.

Just watched that one
again.
Still scary.
And I'll NEVER stop to
help someone w/a
broken down car.

I'm wondering if I had seen "Funny Games" a long time ago if I would have liked it. I need to watch Henry again to see if I've been de-sensitized to the point that I can't enjoy a good scare anymore. That would suck.
Or, maybe I just didn't like "Funny Games".
Ditto on the stopping to help folks broken down on the side of the road. For some reason, I always get dirty looks from them when I drive by, like they're expecting me to stop! I don't get it...
