I was drinking some commercial beer last night, I think it was Urquell or something like that, from czeckerland. I swear I got the exact same buzz as I did from the absinthe the night before, or better, the secondaries really got me off.
It felt good, I'm starting to like beer, long as it's not too bitter

I started this afternoon with a couple of lagers and proceeded to try a JMR Smoother Sweeter One.
Pretty nice for straight whiskey.
I then graduated to Aberlour A'Bunadh 60%.
I'm not sure if I should go for the Balvenie 17 next or just go for an absinthe.
I have also a sample of Lucite to try, but I figure why ruin a nice Saturday evening.

Went up to the FILs today and spent three hours whacking on a died maple stump. It has to be dead for over 10 years, full of grubs and termites, and it is still a bitch to dig/chop/chainsaw out. I figure two or three more sessions and it will be gone.
I screwed up the chainsaw chain when I hit a rock.
The cut out section in the foreground is a root. There are several that size that I have to contend with.
MY Grandson Dalton helps pick up the chunks and puts them in the wheelbarrow to haul off.

A half stick of dynamite would probably do the job if it weren't for the nearby buildings.
I'm lubricating my back with a big glass of Kubler 53. Not bad for the price.

What a grate day to sit on the couch and watch NE teams... too bad I had to work.
So, in celebration of the end of the day, a couple glasses of 20yr Port, some verte absinthe I had in a blue bottle (damned if I know what it is), and the remains of an older bottle of Kubler 53%... (blech it really tastes funky).

I was @ Glennfiddich
when I went to Scotland
years ago and they had
some minis of Cask Strength
and Double Wood.
At that time, I'd never even
heard of Balenvie in the
States.
I held onto them for their
novelty for quite some time,
then I got The Thirst.
I didn't like either of them
at all. Some odd flavor in
there that doesn't sit
well w/me.

I was sent a Scotch sampler by a very generous individual.
The 21 was nice, the 17 no so much.
I do like the A'Bunadh.
I also thought the JMR SSO was nice. Just can't find it in this State.
