Saw a bottle of Kubler 53 at the local liquor store. Just poured a glass.... It has a strange aftertaste & louches like Arak (almost instantly). It's also very sweet. I don't think I'll be buying another bottle of it.
At least the trip wasn't a complete waste, I found a bottle of Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, uncut & unfiltered. 67.4 degrees.

Kübler is funky. Unquestionably.

Just poured a glass of the Kübler 53 I bought about a year ago. Louche was much slower like I would expect & the weird aftertaste is at a minimum. I'm shocked how different the 2 versions are.
Energy at WS rated it 89 out of 100. Not even close.

bah.
All I have is vodka here.
Okay, that's a lie. I also have rum, goldschlager, 10 kinds of wine, whiskey, creme de menthe, etc. I just don't have any cola. I need cola. Need cola to go with the rum.
Otherwise I'll just be having more blue raspberry vodka. Vodka and I are barely speaking since that Sunday two weekends ago...

Slo night.
Worked on a small microprocessor based data logger project I'm doing for the Race bike for next year.
Had a couple glasses of Belgian Special and Night Terror. I'm craving munchies. I need to give th dog a bath tonight since I missed bathing him this week. The Rasberry Saison is pretty good for only 3%abv.
Maybe I'll have a glass of Bugger Absinthe next.

In my opinion, it was almost the same as Arak Razzouk.
I do like Razzouk, it is just not absinthe.

I don't know, I have a bottle of Razzouk & I think I like it better than the US Kubler.

Nov 10 2007, 10:25 PM
I tried the US Kubler a couple weeks ago. I compared it to Razzouk, without having the Razzouk to taste with the Kubler sample.
My comment came from memory. I'm sure you are correct.
I haven't bought a bottle of Kubler. I tried a sample at a gathering.

Kouzobler is what it name suggests, a slightly enhanced version of cheap ouzo. Arak, on the other hand, is more complex, though 2-ingredient only.
And Arak contains aniseed, whereas Kouzobler is badianed to the core.

Some aged sour beer, quite good.

Nope, buddy. F class was the name of ours, just as others were in E, or I, or even G. It is just the symbol. F stood for general profile with extended English.
