That's right, I almost forgot. I hear this year is purty good.
Raindog
Merry philosophers day, celebrating with 3P's, solstice, PBR and readings. Nietzsche, Waits and Twain are all I have at hand, blends nicely if you can believe that substance is cumulative, the former or the latter.

Cold mountain,

EM, much what I expected and not. I could pick a HA out of any line up. Fuqin tasty but not nearly as much spice this year, I love this brewery but Pisgah has much better offerings.

Brother Thelonious and chimay blue, bottles should be largerer. The BT was superiour, thasty stuff that.
GreyBoy2
The Brother is a great beer.

Drinking HG pumpkin ale, dunkel pils, and 3-year old phlegmish Red.
Raindog
Heard the pumpkin with mead from a waterhead at work, how's it tasty?
GreyBoy2
I let it sit on the yeast too long, picked up some heat from the spices,
bites into the earthy pumpkin flavor too much, tastes peppery.
GreyBoy2
Pullin' out some 5-year-old barleywines now,
touch of oxidation but damn good.
absinthist
Kwas Litewski, Pilsener Urquell, Paulaner Hefe Dunkel, Tyskie Książęce.

Pulled out a couple of '98 Dominion Old Millenniums.

More than a touch of oxidation, nd not as hoppy as they once were, but that oleroso sherry character made 'em still damn good, as well.

Beer sucks.
Raindog
Of course it doesn't, breads the xit .

What is eaten between drinks.

St. Benoit Brune and Augustijn, the latter much betterer.
Raindog
Had the last bottle of hellbender as a warmer

Brewing a strong Porter today,
12 lbs of grains in the mash,
2 lbs Turbinado sugar in the kettle,
Dried Ancho Chilis, Cocoa Nibs and Cinnamon sticks for 15 mins of the boil.
Hoping for 7% and a gingerbread kinda flavor.

Drinking Oak-aged Brown ale & Smoked Porter from Ithica,
and Winter Ale from Smuttynose (a Dubbel).
