I just brewed a batch of beer at a CO brewery yesterday,
my recipe, their equipment.
I brought some HG beer along, we tasted them and some of their beers afterwards, talked about techniques, ingredients and processes.
Quite an enjoyable day.

I think there needs to be a separation in the "Co" definition.
There's the big bad evil CO pumping out thousands of liters of mediocre to crap quality absinthe, all the while touting it's authenticity and how good it is. They've probably spend more money on marketing than research. As a result the chances of ever seeing a really good product from them are minimal. They're in it for the money.
Then there's the underdog passionate CO trying to make an authentic product. They don't have the resources to create an absinthe pipeline, but every bottle that's filled is a piece of them. It's their passion and reputation inside. They are as concerned with quality as they are bottom line. They're involved with every step of production, if not the only employee. These are where the decent absinthes are coming from, and more than likely always will be.

I'm HG, but soon to be CO. I won't make any money out of it apart from pennies, but I am going to be making the CO with just as much care and patience as my HG stuff.
Some people are in it for the cash(Pernod Ricard, Sebor, other Czeckerland shit, etc). Some people like Ted, Oxy, Hiram, are actually into this for their love of Absinthe and I am sure they are tryin to provide the best Absinthes that they can with the resources they have.
Not all CO's are evil money hungry bastards.
