Continuation of Emergency Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction
On November 14, 1994, by Executive Order 12938, the
President declared a national emergency with respect to
the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national
security, foreign policy, and economy of the United
States posed by the proliferation of nuclear,
biological, and chemical weapons ``weapons of mass
destruction'' and the means of delivering such weapons.
On July 28, 1998, the President issued Executive Order
13094 amending Executive Order 12938 to respond more
effectively to the worldwide threat of weapons of mass
destruction proliferation activities. On June 28, 2005,
I issued Executive Order 13382 which, inter alia,
further amended Executive Order 12938 to improve our
ability to combat proliferation. The proliferation of
weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering
them continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary
threat to the national security, foreign policy, and
economy of the United States; therefore, the national
emergency first declared on November 14, 1994, and
extended in each subsequent year, must continue. In
accordance with section 202(d) of the National
Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing
for 1 year the national emergency declared in Executive
Order 12938, as amended.

Wouldn't it help diminish the threat if
we executed the offending executive?

Makes me nostalgic for Robespierre!

How then would they eat their cake?

Careful now. We don't want
the SS (Secret Service) knocking
at the door now.
Bognoz
Did I write "we"?
I meant "they".

Hypothetically.
Bognoz
Realistically,

who or what animates
the threat anyway?
Their weapons of mass destruction
or his?
Bognoz
I say
émeute.

I thought everyone knew, Tehran is responsible for our problems.
Louchelooker
Oh everyone knows. Our military
boys and girls are getting ready
to take a left at Albequerque and
head north into Iran I think. That
is the next wide open frontier
that our Cowboy in Chief has
yet to infiltrate.
Kirk
Looks like we'll be eating hardtack.

I'm betting that they don't do Iran -- the price is too high and the opposition to powerful (chiefs of Staff, China . . .) and the emperor is too obviously unclothed.

If anything, they'll get Israel to do the dirty work, like that'll fool anyone . . .
Porkio
I don't think they'll invade Iran either. There's an election coming up and they'd lose even more votes if they did that.

What if the big adviser-in-the-sky
tells 'im it's a moral imperative?

Didn't he let slip with the big
"C" word right after 9/11?
