well, here's the story (i'll type more tomorrow when i'm back at work & away from real life for awhile) I'm sure Doc & Lammy will give you their side of this sordid tale....
Talked to Lammy a couple times during the week & finally made plans to go to the Dinosaur BBQ. Met there at 3PM Friday & didn't want to wait an hour & half for a table. My old lady suggested Coleman's, a nice from the Land of Bogs pub/restaraunt.
Went to Coleman's, where we had a nice late lunch, Lammy & I drank a couple of from the Land of Bogs Whiskies each and Doc had a vitamin G.
They followed us back to my crib, where we immediately drank the Lyonnaise (sp.). Amazing stuff. One of the cleanest I have ever had. We then had some Felix (ALPINE BOMB, MOFO!) & tried to get my old lady to drink some, to no avail. I made her a sapphire and tonic instead.
Next up for me was the Swizzle (proto i think) and I believe Doc & Lammy had some ET # 6 which luckily I received on last Tuesday. I had just enough self-discipline to drink only half the bottle so they would be able to have some...
If I remember correctly, I then had some Nemesinthe and Doc switched to water (worried about the half hour drive home from my crib). I think at this point Lammy pulled the flask of Turkey out of her purse again & started taking swigs. I told her to drink more absinthe with me, but she wanted me to save some of the samples they brought for me. I informed her that I wasn't expecting xmas presents, and to start drinking. She refused, so I poured her a nice glass of turkey. After i finished another Nemisinthe I felt bad drinking absinthe alone, so I switched to Turkey.
I didn't open the wonderful gift that was sent by Mr. Nemisinthe. I plan on saving that for New Year's if only my self-discipline will carry it that far. If the pictures don't come out of the sweet-ass label I will be sure to take a special picture of it.
I hope to have the few pictures I took next week.
We didn't eat any of the fabulous cheesecake that was brought from Brooklyn, but my wife and I dove into it the next day. :):):)
I had a wonderful time chatting with Doc & Lammy as did my wife. Doc is every bit as charming as I remember him from LF03, and Lammy is all you would think of her and more. I only wish we all had more time, because I really enjoyed the conversation with these special people. We could have easily spent the week together and not run out of things to talk about.
One thing that REALLY pissed me off, was the fact that I forgot about my homemade egg nog. I set aside a special quart just for Lammy & Doc and I totally forgot about it until about 20 minutes after they left. I had split the 2 quarts I made, & mixed one with a lesser dose of dark rum, I took Lammy & Doc's and put in a ton of Turkey. mm-mm good! I promised Lammy that I would have some here, but I forgot & they never mentioned it. So i drank the entire quart last night...
Anywho, I can only hope that we get together the next time they're in town. We will DEFINITELY go to the Dinosaur & spend more time talking and talking.
I can't say thanks enough for the samples, cheesecake, and most importantly, the personalities of these two amazing people. I felt instantly like I had known them for many years, and I hope that this becomes true.
Much Love.
