What are some of the weirdest/strangest/ wtf.sml -est movies you have seen?
(T.V movies qualify.)

Liquid Sky
Eraserhead
Blue Velvet
Mullholand Drive-"Chick Flick" in "The Twilight Zone"
The Mutations-Meet the Lizard Lady,The Venus Flytrap Man,and more!
It's Alive-A truly L'Enfant Terrible crawls,squalls,and drinks(human blood.)
Track 29-Gives new meaning to "mother love."Gary Oldman and Christopher Lloyd.

City of Lost Children
The Quiet Earth-Scientist creates space/time warp.Last man on Earth.Moves into
mansion and wears women's underthings.

Pulp Fiction-I love this one.Strange characters.Weird editing.Perfect!
Phantom of the Paradise-I love the music and have a crush on The Phantom.
Night of the Living Dead-"Yeah,they're dead. They're all messed up."Says it all.
Alien-The alien in all it's incarnations-weird and very scary.The cyborg,too.
Psycho
Hairspray-"I'm a checkerboard chick."
Plan 9 From Outer Space-Bad filmmaking at it's best. And the last time Bela Lugosi
appears on film.

My Breast-Made for T.V Woman's saga of having a breast, losing a breast and replacing a breast.
Porkio
Well, Eraserhead obviously gets #1.

Honorable mention goes to:
Arizona Dream
Maelstrom
Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (the original one)
White Zombie
Dune
Kurosawa's Dreams
Inferno
Suspiria
Adventures of Baron von Munchausen

And although they are really strange, I really like Jack's leather fetish movie collection. I was recently hired as an actor in one of his films.
Black Jack
Oh Snap!
Felis Catus
The first time I saw Eraserhead I had nightmares for a month, then I dragged everyone I knew to see it.

The only black and white dream I have ever had was about Eraserhead.

Baron von Munchausen was truly wacko.I had no idea what it was about.I know there was a real Baron von Munchausen given to telling wild tales, but that wild?
When did he live?Do you suppose it was in the era of The Green Hour?

Did Jack allow you to wear your pretty dress over the leather corset and boots?
Or was it "give to me your leather, take from me my lace..."
Felis Catus
"When a problem comes along, you must whip it!"

" Crack that whip!"

DEVO
Off. Jack Batemaster
It's certainly no coincidence that he's known as "Porkio."

I thought you were supposed to mention weird/strange movies, not just "non-mainstream" (and some of them are'nt even that...) ??? bondage.sml
Felis Catus
Mention a few.

Black Jack

Great "quote"!

If you go see the Blue Fairy, she will make you a real boy.
If you go see the Green Fairy, she will make you her toy.

(Sorry for the bad poetry-I just had to.)

I believe,B.J!
Louched Liver
Even Dwarves Started Out Small.
Louched Liver

Mention a few.

Of course!

Mathew Barney: The Cremaster Cycle
Fernand Leger: Ballet Mecanique
Kenneth Anger: Fireworks

All are very recomendable!
Felis Catus
I think Ballet Mecanique is the most intriguing title.

Is it a DaDa film?

Do you think Amazon might have it?

Thanks for your list!
Felis Catus
Even Dwarves Started Out Small.

Is that the one where the kind of twisted dwarf that limps from the David Lynch movies has traumatic dreams about his birth and has to go through regression therapy?

And then he learns that even dwarves with limps can be real men and he marries
his therapist and they move to a mansion in Chatsworth,California and make
porno movies? Then she gets pregnant and the child is a dwarf and he takes
him to baseball games and they bag a deer when the kid is 12 and then that's the
end because they are both big men at heart?

Is that the one?

Mullholand Drive-

After the movie ended, I sat there stunned.. for 10 minutes. I couldn't figure out if the movie sucked, or if it was great.

I'm still unsure.

Cemetery Man.

Any discussion of Anna Falchi would have to be in the sandbox though.

Agreed. Cemetery Man was a great film.

And Anna Falchi is smoking hot. Even dead, she's smoking hot.

Mulholland drive is a great film.See it again, and just remember everything happens
in reverse,or is a (day)dream.
Felis Catus
Vampires are sexy, even though they are the "living dead".

Besides the fangs and the bloodletting,I think I am attracted to that funereal
pallor.Shrounds are also hot.

I think Maturin has a shround.
DGLeadbetter
I had a shround for a while, but it went away with some topical ointment.

DG
Louched Liver
The Shround of Silence.
AquaMan

I thought the same thing. Then I went back and watched it again, from the beginning (or the end, depending on how you look at it). It made a lot more sense, once I already knew the ending (or beginning, depending on how you look at it). See, the story line is actually sort of like a mobius strip...
Felis Catus
Ok, I accidentally hit the "n" key. sleep.gif

Shroud.

Shrounds are the offspring of a sheep and a hound.I think Dean Koonz wrote The Shrounds. The producers of Cujo are releasing the movie next spring.

Vote #2 for EL TOPO. Followed by THE HOLY MOUNTAIN.

And who can avoid being weirded out by SANTA SANGRE ?
Louched Liver
Me.
I didn't think it was near as ass nutty
as the 1st 2.
DGLeadbetter
Lost Highway .... I'm still trying to figure that one out. Great performance by Robert Blake, though.

DG
Louched Liver
He killed.

The following quote was my summary of Mulholland Drive to Maturin:
it was David Lynch's non-linear meditation on the fluidity of identity.
Felis Catus
That sounds just about right.

#3 for El Topo. Holy crap was that movie bizarre. Jodorowski has a strange mind...

"WR: Mysteries of the Organism" by Dusan Makavejev. Partly a documentary about psychologist Wilhelm Reich, partly the love story ov a soviet ice-skater, who ends up having his head chopped off with a skate. And then there is also a scene showing the casting of a dildo.
DGLeadbetter

Now that is interesting. Hmmm... I wonder how many readings it had to do?

DG

I'm going to have to see that one. I like Reich.

Vote #4 for El Topo. That has to be about the most bizarre thing I've ever seen on screen.

Donnie Darko is also worth a look.

And while I'm at it--the strangest sequence in 70s Hollywood has to be that scene in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot when Eastwood and Bridges get picked up by that guy with the rabbits in his trunk. I've never been able to get that scene out of my mind.
DGLeadbetter
Ah yes .... and when the parents make their way to the kids room and find them doin' the nasty whilst tied up is pretty good too.

This is the only scene I can remember from this "documentary."
