Renowned for its supposedly hallucinogenic effects, the anise-flavored alcohol was rumored to have caused an epidemic of psychosis in France in the late 1800s--most infamously, leading Vincent van Gogh to cut off his ear.

One case (and Lanfray's the second one) is epidemic of psychosis? Jesus Fuckin' Christ!

Often referred to as the Green Fairy, absinthe gets its chartreuse hue from wormwood

Lehrman says one thing is certain: "If you drink three bottles, you are going to do something stupid."

In fact, he musta have. Brought Kuozobler to the shelves.

That article is the norm for Time Magazine. The sad part is that it is considered a source of news by many.

The norms are written by noroms™, indeed. I understand there was a craze entitled "absinthe in the U.S." as if there was none already, if not legal or commercially sold, butt cannot it simply die off?

The newer article is, the more nonsense it delivers. Soon, they will say absinthe is licorice-flavoured spirit with hue from fennel, they will fer xure find all the jibe on fenchone toxicity as well.

TheGreenOne
More moronitude.

Like Cheema, Dhannu agreed that supplying Four could potentially be a profitable business move, but he said he is not concerned with its wormwood oil content.

"It wouldn't be on the market if it wasn't safe, and if it is as good as it sounds I am sure it would sell," Dhannu said.

"profitable", "it would sell", I bet I have already heard that...

Any energy drink sux and is full of chemicals.

Although LuXit™ and Kouzobler are not mentioned, it is an excellently BSy piece (piss?) of information:

was liquor distilled from a large number of various herbs, roots, seeds, leaves, and barks steeped in anise.

Someone has barked, indeed. How can ya steep sumthin' in seeds, or mebbe the "author" forgot to add "oil" or such???
QUOTE
In addition to banning wormwood from manufactured liquor, the use of the word "absinthe" on bottles of modern concoctions, which do not contain wormwood, is also banned.

QUOTE
Though absinthe was the liquor of that time period, it's very hard to come by in modern times.
