Used to be DSL till I moved about a year ago. Now we are on cable, but only because we can't get DSL here. Cable bandwidth varies a lot throught the day.

running a string from house to house and shouting "CONNECT" into a tin can doesn't mean you have cable, Spucky.
nice try though.

Does it make me a bad person if I'm the network admin at work, and I throttle everyone else's bandwidth so I get the majority of our T-1?
I sure hope not!
High speed static-IP DSL at home, courtesy of work. But I seldom go online at home.

Dial-up at home. I can only read as fast as a 56K modem, so it works for me. Work is DSL, and so it takes me longer to post there -- it posts before I get a chance to proof-read it.

I have a DSL connection at work and cable at home, and I still get all wracked with suspense waiting for things to load here.

Transfers have been more consistent since my son upgraded the firmware in the Router (NetGear). It seems to be a bit faster on loads too.

I have spent the last 3 years with this wonderful 100mb network in my house. Tore apart the place wiring it with phone, coax, and network jacks when I bought it. Turns out, even though the rest of the town could get DSL, my place neighboorhood wired 18+ years ago in a way that didnt allow for DSL to be used. The local cable company considered us a non-area for upgrades to cable.
My only option was Wireless Internet... but I wasnt willing to drop the $300-$400 for setup when I wasnt sure how long I would keep the place, plus it was still antoher $60 a month.
Lucky me Comcast bought out AT&T and finally brought in the network upgrades, then 2-3 months ago I got my Highspeed. Its the most wonderful thing in the world.

I'm going nowhere.

Home internet service is nada. Good ol' Cox(sucker) Cable has to have their engineers bring a line to my house and then!-----BROADBAND, BABY! Woohoo!
