For me it's a tradition: Roast with Yorkshire pudding. For drink, I've started a new tradition: warmed GluhKriek ale and chilled Mead.

Lasagna, Calzone, Gnocchi, Sausages, peppers, Italian potato salad, Tiramisu, cappuccino, and lots and lots of red wine.
(her side of the family is Italian...).
Then after the meal we'll rub our bellies and watch Young Frankenstein, a holiday tradition...

We do 2 dinners for Christmas. One for the gf's fam, and one for mine. Her family is a bit less traditional so fried chicken, ham, scallops, and snacks.
My family goes old school with a fresh goose, cornbread stuffing, roast with yorkshire pudding (good call Jack), mulled cider, lots of wine, egg nog, cranberry dressing, and a lamb roast (G. Grandma makes the best on the planet, and yes, this is the same grandma that likes absinthe, ha!). 25-30 people at the big feast a year. it gets nuts.

It's been ages since I've had Yorkshire pudding. Do you make yours with real terriers, Crafty?

Flour, eggs, milk, a bit of salt. No dogs in the pudding, that would be the roast.

Maybe I'll start off Christmas day with an eye-opener. The mayor suggests Swizzle LB. Are eye-opener lattes the way to go? Or just plain coffee?

Me either, but tomorrw's the day ... I'm bringing in enough Lasala to hook up the whole division with eye openers. You don't want to mix in the good stuff with coffee.

They're to die for. I'm a new initiate and have only tried them with Deva and La Fée. The first was questionable, but the second I liked. I've been told that they're not supposed to be yummy. Mine was. It reminded me of coffee-dunked biscotti.
It seems like a bit of a waste to use Swizzle, though. Like a silk jockstrap. Then again, knowing you...

I made some great bourbon balls. Other then that the tradition seems to be country ham biscuits, oyster stew and/or crab soup.

Grandma will probably make ham, scalloped potatos, ceaser salad, and that green bean casserole made with Campbell's soup and frizzy canned onions.
Apple pie and pecan pie for desert(with hope grandma will forget the plum pudding this year

.)
Porkio-Your house sounds like the place to be for Christmas.Wanna trade some
leftover green bean casserole for some of those Italian goodies?
Great choice of movies, too.Much cheerier than It's A Wonderful Life.

Can you make an eye opener with really strong tea instead of coffee? I am not a
coffee fan.
I do like frappacino's.Maybe I will try one with a shot of absinthe.

We had Pizza Hut Pizza for X-mas last weekend. Whew, I made Nolamour's two quotes come together in only 1 degree!
After turkey and ham at my sister's in-laws we always have a non-traditional X-mas meal, usually lasagna or pizza. Any more nobody wants to cook, so looks like it's pizza!

Definitely use the Swizzle.
And I'd recommend the most caffeinated shit you can stomach.
The 1st one is always tough, but they get too easy.
And as always when drinking Eye Openers-
All bets are off.

Lets see this year its gonna be swizzle LB before lunch. Lunch will be rib roast w/horse raddish sauce and mashed baby red potatoes w/roasted garlic . Some smoked salmon in cream cheese spead and other various side dishy food. Lots of wine, and then when I get to work LB eye openers.
