Wasn't the point of vodka that it was flavorless, ergo it could be mixed with anything?
Peppered vodka? Can that be used in anything other than a Bloody Mary?
Various citrus vodkas? Wouldn't one just mix those with citrus juice?
Coffee vodka? Are you fucking kidding me? Let's make a White Russian sweeter!
Watermelon vodka? Really? Didn't anyone go to college?
Vanilla vodka? Cheap, clear, vanilla extract. 'Nuff said.
Berry vodkas? Isn't that why we have berries and blenders?
Chocolate vodka? FUCK YOU!
I blame the rise of the -tini.
It's a suffix gone wild.
A martini is a martini. And a vodka martini is wrong, but still the only other acceptable -tini in nature.
I remember a simpler time,
when our choices were Absolut, Smirnoff, Stoli, Gordon's and Popov.
All vodka-flavored.
Nicotine-infused, cigarette-flavored vodka.
Now that might actually be useful.
Rum and tequila are sneaking up on vodka.
We need to put a stop to it before they invade our whiskeys, bourbons and single-malt scotches.

Perique Liqueur de Tabac
50cl 31% abv (62 proof)
Louisiana Perique is the rarest and most precious tobacco in the world. Early French settlers learned the secrets of Perique cultivation from the native peoples, and while their descendents have continued the tradition for centuries, very little Perique exists today. The unique terroir of the Mississippi River gives Perique the intense spices and aromas that contribute to the delicate balance of this fine liqueur.
Perique is entirely artisanal in its construction, and captures the nuances of this ancient tobacco. Perique is best enjoyed in the same manner as one would a fine liqueur or brandy. Due to the difficulty in procuring this rare tobacco, Perique liqueur is available only in limited quantity.

Too weak to be classified as "brandy", though. Whether enjoyable is a matter of taste. Or lack thereof.

I drank a lot of vodka way back when.
I really didn't even look at the vodka section until a few months ago.
In my liquor warehouse, unfortunately.
When Skeet was here, he spent 20 minutes in the rum section,
by choice.
I spent 30 minutes in the vodka section,
not by choice.
As for the other thing, not gonna happen.

Casino debuts new touch-screen bar table
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Microsoft Corp. and Harrah's Entertainment Inc. introduced a high-tech interactive bar table Wednesday that lets patrons order drinks, watch YouTube videos, play touch-screen games and even flirt with each other.
The tables offer Harrah's a new way to track its customers' habits and behaviors, adding to its sophisticated costumer rewards program that tracks users' gambling habits.
The six rectangular tables with built-in 30-inch flat screens using Microsoft Surface technology were installed in a lounge at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with custom applications built for Harrah's.
A program called Mixologists lets patrons play bartender by creating and ordering concoctions of whatever cocktails and mixers they click on. The system is able to remember users' drink orders and, one day, may be able to offer customers the same drink at other Harrah's locations, such as when they play a slot machine.
The table also includes a program called Flirt, which lets customers sitting at any such table in the lounge see and chat with each other, take and e-mail pictures and even trade cell phone numbers.

I've been drinking straight vodka for the first time since about 1993.
Apparently, 15 years is the span of time it takes to get past really bad booze memories.
On the upside, I might be able to drink really cheap domestic beer in another two years.

Mmm, you talked me into a mix of colorado bulldogs and bloody mary's. Let's see what we can curdle in my stomach tonight!
Milk, tomato juice, coke, dill pickle juice, tobasco, worcestershire, kaluha, A-1, and, of course, unflavored plain-old vodka. All with a dash of celery salt.

Must admit that, due to Abby's rant, am now sipping on a bloody mary, not bad but would be better if I had something other than kiwi/mango vodka.
