I just took part in a bar conversation about evolution. Some idiot insisted that man has stopped evolving. His proof was that there have been no changes in the past 100 or so years...

He might be right.

Actually, the person who claimed there was no change in man in the last hundred or so years has not paid attention.

Look at the statistical change in height, weight, etc.

Anyone who visits a historical house like Biltmore House in Asheville NC, or the mining community of Southpark in Colorado, can't help but notice how small the beds and doorways (etc) were a hundred years ago.

And I heard on some radio show that this is the first generation to have it's life expectancy get shorter than the previous generation's, largely due to chemicals in our food, water and air. Can't say where they got that statistic, but it might be true?


When I saw that picture above, my first thought was how fat Peridot's gotten.
