More The Dissident.

This stuff is what true Flanders style Oud Bruin overlayed with sour cherries xould taste like, and it definitely kicks the xit out of Liefmann's Kriekbier

And none of y'all will be invited unless you're there at the right time, and only then it's simply for our amusement....

What am I...a fuckin' clown to you?
Absomphe
If you've noticed any of your xoes missing, the answer is prolly yes.
GreyBoy2
Right now coffee and juice,
tonight, I'll be getting FUNKY!!!
TheGreenOne
Plenty of good food. Will there be anything to drink?
Absomphe
Funky frites smothered in sour malt vinegar, prolly.

Why these beers are to be served in such a tiny quantity? 2 oz. is like a 60ml, right?

Far too small to revel in these offerings (from what I am reading most of them are true full-bodied beers). Why don't they serve them in at least 100ml-that would mean 58 beers, each 100=5800ml=an equivalent of almost 12 beers per head, so the party is kinda started; with 58 beers, each 60=3480ml-an equivalent of just almost 7 beers.

Daikini's Legal #1 & #2.
Grim
Hey GreenOne... thanks for pubcrawlin' with me.
TheGreenOne
We need to do it again.

Saw My Bloody Valentine the other night. Didn't need to tip zip squat. They were so loud, nearly tore the top of my noggin' clean off!

So you can drink 240 of them, like I did at the Great American Beer Festival, in '94.

Dumass.
G&C
Indeed.

That wouldn't happen to be this Great American Beer Festival would it?
G&C
I believe he said '94.
Absomphe
Indeed.

And I said the Great American Beer Fest.

It's in Denver, btw, which is almost bordering on Rhode Island, Magellan. yelclap.gif

nephrite
It was a shameless plug.
GreyBoy2
You know what we do to shills around here?
GreyBoy2
And 2 oz pours of at least 60 beers is perfect.

Yes Asswhomph, The Dissident was awesome.
nephrite
Define shill please...
G&C
shill Definition shill (s̸hil)

noun
  1. the confederate of a gambler, pitchman, auctioneer, etc. who pretends to buy, bet, or bid so as to lure onlookers into participating
  2. a person who works energetically to sell or promote something
Etymology: contr. < shillaber < ?

intransitive verb

Slang to act or work as a shill

nephrite
I believe GreyBoy2 wuz inferrin' to:

"A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists. In the UK the term plant is also used."

I am xure ya had, butt the ad is misleadin'-nowhere is stated the pours are repeated and they even mention the guys pourin' might be pourin' less than 2 oz. So, what is a limit of repeated pours per a customer?
QUOTE

Important notes on the beers:

* All beers are poured by BA Fest Staff during NotB.
* All beers are subject to change and availability.
* All pours are 2ozs (or less)

Kirk
I'm drinking the best I've had in ages.
Tried the Leopold #10, like sucking on a lemon drop but nice to be able to.
GreyBoy2
Boggy, get off the tansy.
You could drink as much as you want as many times as you wanted.
Get your 2oz sample then taste it (and take notes as I did) as you get in line for another sample, simple.
GreyBoy2
As for less than 2 oz, that was reserved for the rare beers that were in limited quantities so that more people could try them.

The "shameless plug" looks like an advert for a fest,
we don't like advertizin'.

Just a freindly nudge to be careful.

As for the fest, I think it could use a bit more breweries and less macros,
Though I love participating in the peer-reviewed judging on Friday.

Nudge acknowledged. The link was a project example. Personally, I'd be more interested in donating my time to developing a site for an American style Fęte de l'Absinthe.

I'm cutting back. My GP told me 5 drinks a night was too much and he wants me back to 2/night.

In addition he is putting me on pain killers for my lumbago. I don't like acetaminophen, but he has prescribed lortab.

Fucking bike wreck is really catching up with me.

I can't sleep for the back pain

Brett heads I know seem to think the yeast isn't assertive enough, but I think they're confusing an oud bruin/kriekbier with a lambic. There's enough tartness in the Dissident, but it has the some of the refined elegance I remember in the Liefmann's Goudenband of the 80s. It's a shame they filtered it, though.

I heard some comments to that effect Friday, not tart/sour enough.
I thought it was perfect for what it was trying to be.

Why not see if the doc can swap the lortab prescription for Lortab ASA (aspirin instead of acetaminophen) or Vicoprofen (same but with ibuprofen).

Ola Dubh 16 year (aged in Highland Park whisky barrels).

Syrupy body with big hints of chocolate, roast bacon, a touch of plum, and a rich peatiness.

Huge scotch ale with a tremendously long finish.
