I believe those are the lost "ass" spoons of the Shankara, last seen in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The three spoons were stolen from small French villages by the worshippers of Ghali-ma in 1930. When the spoons are re-united in the configuration you see above, they spell "ASS", and therein lies their magical powers.

Dec 26 2003, 04:07 PM

Is that the extent of their magic? They just spell "ASS"? Or does some mystical event occur, like a burning ass, the transmogrification of a small supply of geoducks into ample asses for the masses, or perhaps the parting...oh, never mind.
If they make aliens land, I'm buying them.

Maturin-I wonder if you are meant to blow out the fire before grating the sugar cube, grate as fast as you can before the fire reaches your knuckles,or let the
carmelizing sugar drip down your fingers and then use the grater on your hand?
I wish I had one of them gadgets so I could experiment with various methods.

Very likely true, or they could have been cut out from a computer controlled milling machine.
You can make a crude CAD drawing, and pop out junk like that quite easy.
With a well done 3D cad drawing and Stereo-lithography, you can create some incredible masters for production. (rapid prototyping is amazing to watch.)
