Full Version: Craptacular
The Misfit Absinthe Forum > The Town Square > The Absinthe House
gasspectro
I'm talking the swill that tries to pass itself off as real absinthe. Y'know, the crap that tastes like shit but the marketers try to pass it off on dimwits as a "mixable" absinthe. Utter xit.
Mata Hari.
Tourment Verte.
Absente.
Crosby
Marteau Verte Classique and Luxit cum to mind. I'm not even considering the German and Czech crap, onacuz everyone should know better by now.
jaded prol
St. George -- the worst so far.
TheGreenOne
I haven't tried the Mata Hari, et al. (and don't intend to). The Lucid is probably the worst I remember other than a Markus prototype. When it comes to full blown craptacular -- I'll leave that others.
absinthist
Pere Kermann.
Absomphe
Elixier
Krut's Karport
Perrigan
elfnmagik
Mythe
St. George
Lucid

Wild Bill Turkey
Yeah, leaving off the Czeckerland range obvious drain-cleaner, and once you've already listed Tourment Verte and Mata Hari, etc, I'd vote for St, George as most sinkable product being touted as real absinthe.
elfnmagik
I don't know, Mythe is more craptacular, methinks.
jaded prol
I'd forgotten about Perrigan 21210-7.gif
DrinkSlinger
Deva 70 was pretty bad, and I'd rank the weak louched fishy un emile pretty low.
Selmac
Angelique onnacuz of the wormwood coloration.
Absomphe
As long as we're on that subject, let us not forget Segara 68.

Or maybe we xould.
Crosby
I had, until you brought it up.
Bognoz
Leaving smack dab at the bottom of the crapper barrel
I cd offer the names of a host of xitswills
that mostly form the deadlier end of a deadly game
of downing shots with generous bikers,
but everyone here knows they're not real.

(And the view from the bottom
can be spectacublur, don't forget.)
Bognoz
Outsida that, I've bought things I won't
buy again, but I cain't think of any
that were unredeemable xite,
thank Bůh, not Bog. Butt, one
Lion prototype was to die for
and I'll never try that release.
Bognoz
Only way to avoid the craptacular
is to embrace what's been proven.

Serpis 65 is one of the best absinthes ever made. And I do mean by anyone, anywhere, ever!

Crosby
I still stand by that statement today.
Wild Bill Turkey
If Duplais were alive today, he'd be cookin with bug juice.
Crosby
Prezactly.
GreyBoy2
There's commercial absinthe worth drinking?
jaded prol
There will be soon.
elfnmagik
Real soon.
TheGreenOne
Why wait? Drink Kruts Karport today.
Absomphe
Now there's one that's really worth dying for from!

Yeah, I hear you, Cros, but I don't happen to have any on hand, sorry.
G&C
I do.
Absinthe_1900
The worst was when someone offered me a glass of industrial tasting Czeckerland Filterated Czeckerland Xit called Green Tree, the crap tasted like chemical waste.

I do.

Onacuz you have a real Equal Opportunity Liquor Cabinet/Museum™.

G&C
More of a cardboard box.
Off. Jack Batemaster
Um, no comment.
