I might be the only person here planning to be straight sober at midnight on New Year's Eve. Even I'm not stupid enough to skydive while fucked up. But once we all land from our midnight jump, the party shall commence!

Getting up? Hell no. I start as soon as I clear the staff from the bar. In the old days myself and the "lucky" bartender would do inventory until the weee hours of 10am the next day. The bonus was a bottle of Dom after completing each bar (we have 5).
These days I get no "lucky" helper, and there is no bonus Dom... just a few cups of coffee.

we have three bars with a total of 10 wells plus upstairs and downstairs walk-ins it takes about 8 of us who are "CORE" to count inventory. We close and do accounting this finished at 4am then we go home sleep til 8:30a go back and start inventory at 9:30a I have never understood this! I work in a hardcore enviorment! I will be home, and with any luck satelite T.V will finally be activated. They have already required extra payment for cable that would cost $3 at Radio Shack. We are also already getting the runaround about parts of our contract.
If all goes well,I will join in on viewing the Twilight Zone marathon.
No absinthe until after new year's,so I will not be able to try the apple cider/
absinthe toddy. It will be straight eggnog,Bailey's,and cherry Coke for my holiday drinkies. Not to worry,I am not planning on mixing them.

during. It would be freakin’ great to meet you.

Dec 30 2003, 06:42 AM
I will, I think it would be awesome to met you as well. I'll know more about the exact where later in the year. I appreciate the generous offer.
For me, it's all about experience. Ever since I've turned 40, I decided I'm going to go see all the places that have intrigued me ... the pyramids, time square on New Years, Mardi Gras, diving with Great whites ... you get the idea.
What a better way to spend New Year's Eve than with 200,000 of your closest friends? Other than being protected by a couple of closer friends.
