It's funny how the Herbsaint is so dark amber when neat and turns almost correctly green once water is added.

I need to reshoot the Herbsaint, I'd say that it isn't quite as dark amber as the photo looks...........perhaps it's toward the dead leaf color. (I think the computer table color affected the photo)
Vintage Herbsaint does louche like a vintage type absinthe, very pretty as it blooms in the glass.
From what I was told (vintage) Herbsaint was similiar to (old) Pernod, sans wormwood.........not being the most herb savvy person out there, I can't say what is in the (old) Herbsaint, but I can say that I believe it to have been a good product in it's day.
Sad that what it is today is not the same.

Height is something like 7.25 inches. Dose is exactly 1oz (30ml). Never filled it past the cuts, but the top of the cut's is the 5:1 ratio, I imagine your glass is similar. The mouth is particularly wide, the only way to fit a spoon on it is to sit it close to the edge of the glass as opposed to dead center.

My glass is only 5.7" and the dose is 1/2 ounce. The top of the cut is the 5:1 ratio on mine as well...

Jack, your new spoon is pretty impressive, but I went with the upgraded fish within a fish style. That extra fish is handy at keeping those chunks of sugar from falling through.
