2-3 inches, so far, and it's still dumping out there.
Masque
2-3 inches here, and slowing. No excuses for me yet, but I have a couple hours.

i live in the town with the biggest snowplow in the world....and we've only had 2 halfway decent snowstorms this winter.

fuck. looks like i'll be moving to siberia next year.
lambchop
No snow on Christmas sure sucked....
CelticGent

no kidding.

It rarely snows in Seattle - some years, none at all. They don't have enough equipment to clear all the major roads. It's better to stay home, especially with the high ratio of idiot SUV drivers.

We have a white Christmas about every 10 years, or so.
lambchop
Well congratulations then, on the snowfall of 2004.

Lucky bastards.

We had our big snow storm here, the winter of '89!
Yup, half an inch of snow and it shut down everything from the Fl-Ga border all the way down to Ocala! nopity.gif
CelticGent
hehe

we had an inch of ice yesterday (from 59 degrees to a rainy 29 degrees overnight)and i don't even count that.

course i can't call you pussies cause i hate it when it goes over 75 degrees, so i'd be whining if i was down there.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy. Snow showers likely. Snow accumulation 1 to 3 inches... Heaviest north of the thruway. Lows 5 to 10 above with wind chills dropping to around 10 below. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent.

oh, for you southerners & westies, the above & below they're talking about is zero.

it's 19 degrees currently.

It got cold here but no snow until this weekend. I stayed home anyway trying to get rid of a nasty cold. I'm still trying to poison it with prolsinthe (the house brand between shipments I can't afford). Drunk.sml

I had my first experience with freezing rain tonight. My car had a half-inch of ice over the ENTIRE CAR. I chipped my way into a door and then the windows. That was an experience, for me at least.

2-3 inches of snow is a dusting around here, just brush it aside and go about your buisness.
Today is the warmest it's going to be here a high temp of about 27, flurries after rain last night, makes a nice frosting to scrape off the car.
The next 3 or 4 days the temp will not get above 20,
time to break out the 3 year old Barleywine!
Le Gimp
We had snow before Christmas, but it was gone on Christmas day.

Currently 12F after a low of 10F last night. High today of 37.

Yesterday it was 24 when I left for home at 5pm.

I dislike this time of year. Dark when I leave for work. Dark when I leave to go home. Cold all the time.

Hopefully we won't go negative F this year. Single digits are bad enough.

Lowest temp since I've lived here was -15F not inculding wind chill.

Most snow was February of 96 when we got 24" of wet snow (drifts to 48")and shut down the county for almost a week. Most of the county was without power for 5 days, some for over a week.

Nothing like living in the "Sunny South".
lambchop
Ah. The blizzard of '96. What a glorious time that was. Had to exit my house through the second story window. I loved every minute of it.

I can't believe we've sunk so low as to actually be talking about the weather.

You people make me sick.
lambchop
You're right.
It's the only thread in this place that's actually on topic.

I like cheese.

Abe Vigoda!
Le Gimp
I got one of those nifty rotary cheese graters for Christmas. I need to buy some hard cheese to grate with it.
Rimbaud
Beans!
lambchop
beans
Rimbaud
Beans ARE beautiful...

Help me out here fellas..

The official policy where I work in Seattle says that when the Seattle School district closes due to bad weather, our office closes too and we all get the day off paid.

Well, the Seattle schools are closed again on Wednesday due to all the ice and slush in the roads, but I feel like a lazy bum staying home two days in a row.

Please help me correct my attittude!

Get drunk, man. You will only really understand that you have a free day off from life after you have had your first cocktail of the morning.
lambchop
Go get drunk, you workaholic loser!
lambchop
hee hee hee....
we posted the same thing at the same time again....
too many brain cells in common
(and all of them thinking about booze, apparently)
sheepprofessor
I'd make the prdecitable comment about great minds, but we both know that would be a lie.
