I just finished reading this, which I received as a Christmas gift two weeks ago. It is the first work by Crowley I have actually read.

It is not so much about absinthe as it is about people watching in the Old Absinthe House in New Orleans while sipping our favorite beverage.

Must have been nice. I suppose the best I'll be able to do soon if I want is to sip a Pernod Pastis in the New Orleans bar in Seattle's Pioneer Square.

I suppose there are worse perdicaments out there...
