I think it will be interesting when a lot of people with tattoos get significantly older, and are spending their elder years in the old folks home.
It would make for some fascinating photos. roflmao.gif

No kidding. When people have to unravel the sags and wrinkles to show you what their tattoo looks like, it is probably better to pass.

Including loud shirts and leather chaps.

I save the leather chaps for leisure play.

actually i don't regret that tattoo, just regret getting it from a scumbag doing bong hits in a dirty-ass basement of a friend of a friend.

really smart.

Ha!
Same story here.
First one done at age 15 at a local joint called the Rebel Tattoo Parlor in Front Royal, Virginia. Dude's name was Bubba.
The tattoo, or at least the idea that I had about the tattoo, is the original Carroll drawing of the Cheshire Cat. It’s on the top of my left foot.
Needless to say, Bubba had some slightly different interpretations of the Cheshire Cat than I did.
Don’t regret it now and never will.
Looks like hell, but I love it anyway.

hey, that's fairly close to were i live! my tat was done at state of the art tattos in winchester.
Masque
I like my tatoo. I could care less if others see it.

I keep it hidden most of the time, not hard as it is on my upper arm. Nothing lower, as I hate long sleeve shirts.

I think fucked up tattoos are a good thing. If nothing else, they serve as a time marker in your own personal history. Some people forget they used to like the Grateful Dead, but if you have some stupid Jerry Bear on your ankle, it always reminds you of who you were, which I think is kind of cool. (unless of course you have your x-boyfriends name tattooed on your ass, but I'm assuming nobody here is that white trash).

My 2 tattoos are on my right arm, one is a black scorpion in a red circle, the other is Edward Gorey's "Doubtful Guest", which is black w/ a red & black scarf. The only problem with getting the Melies's Trip to the Moon tattoo is the owner of the company I work for already has a tattoo of that, and I hate copy cat tattoos.

When I was drunk once (really, I've been known to get to that state) I went to this hole in the wall place and said "Hey, do you do tracheotomies here?" The guy said sure, for a price, so I....

... I didn't do anything. No tats, nothing pierced... just plain old boring.

Yup, that's me. Plain old boring.

Sometimes I'm addressed as Mr. Plain Old Boring though which I think is kind of cool.

Between Lambchop and 2Louche, I'm getting a little pang of homesickness... Been out West about 10 years now but I was born in Manassas and I grew up in Pucellville.

Porkio-The Doubtful Guest is an excellent, and highly unusual, choice for a tattoo.

The Doubtful Guest is also one of my favorite E.Gorey tales.

I also like The Insect God very much;Perhaps I will get that character done in
henna on the back of one hand.

No tattoos.I agree with several of you about how they might appear in one's later
years.No piercings.

I have drawn dragons for several people to be used as designs for tattoos.

Thanks. It's one of my favourite books too. Every time I read the part where he drops the watch into the lake to protect it, I fall over laughing.

The insect god or perhaps Figbash is another logical choice for the next one...

I got my tongue pierced when I was 19. Why? cause the GF thought it was cool. I took it out a couple years later when it started to chip my teeth.

my GF from a few years ago had her tongue pierced and on our first date during dinner one of the ends of the barbell came off and she accidently swallowed it, she was prepared, she carried an extra barball and excused herself and replaced it. she was also pierced in a couple other places and i liked them all!!

When tasteful, I like it on other people's flesh.

On myself, I find it too permanent, which goes against my phylosophie and general view of life and death. If anything I would get a tatoo of a recycle sign but that would not be very esthetic so I'll pass.
Joalco
A good friend of mine has a tattoo in the middle of his chest of the recycle symbol overlaid with the Tibetan character for "karma."
2loucheltrec
"did she recycle? "

i hope not.

close but false alarm. one morning she asked if i had seen where she put one of her rings, she had apparently had put it away somewhere she normal didn't, i think it ended up in a dresser drawer. before we had found it i asked her "um, you don't think that...?"

"To the extent that I actually grew up, I did it in Marshall."

near da' plains, right? i prolly drove right past ya' when i worked in middleburg.

How about The Black Doll(on a rail cart?)as your next piece of body art?

Or perhaps the entire E.Gorey alphabet down one arm? That way,in your older years, you can remind yourself of how the alphabet goes.Of course, you'll have to stretch out those wrinkles to make it legible.(Or pay a pretty nurse at the home to do it. ) wink.gif
