I saw a preview this weekend that's sure to make you cringe. There's a flick coming out called "Euro Trip" ("From the producers of 'Road Trip' and 'Old School'!!!" the thing proudly proclaims -- that's some pedigree...).

Typical stupid teen flick, but featured prominently in the trailer, the cast winds up in a club in Prague, where they down several shots of absinthe because (I don't remember the exact words, but they were something along the lines of...), "It's illegal -- I hear it gets you really HIGH." Two seconds later, there's a fat drunken green fairy floating around, and one of the teens is mugging down with his sister.

Classy. Nice to see what the Farrelly brothers have wrought, no?

What's really great is the influx of dumbass maxim style absinthe curiosity that this movie will most likely generate.

Hell, I'm still dealing with the Maxim people. Just this NYE I had some idiot going on and on about how the Czeckerland stuff was 'da bomb.' I tried my best to explain the error of his ways but that only seemed to make things worse. And then I had one of those If-it-weren't-for-my-horse Lewis Black moments when he said, "I'm Italian so I KNOW absinthe."

Ah hell, noticed Moulin Rouge playing on VH1 last night so likely gonna get a bit of an influx from those too cheap for HBO and too embarressed to rent it at Blockbuster.

I like newbies. They make me feel smart, sometimes. But then the wool comes crashing back over my eyes...
