Resin,...... depends on the type and brand,........ polyester, epoxy, polymer.......some are easy to work with, and some are a total pain to use for casting.

The other fun part of casting is making the molds, RTV, etc.

Another reason to move up to the absinthe epicenter of the universe.
Glassolalia
Unfortunately - it's the US glass epicenter, as well.....
Absomphe
Go West, young Gs.
Glassolalia
Unfortunately - Cambridge, MA is the US biotech epicenter. Gotta pay the bills, ya know.

I always forget there are people with real jobs, worthless itinerant antiques dealer that I am.

It's amazing that I convinced Tish to move up here. She ended up teaching on an Indian reservation, and will probably never forgive me. post-6-1069831687.gif

Egyptian Indians? Never heard of that before.
G&C
They were the indigenous population of Egypt before the Kushite invasion.

I do collect Vernon Kilns in the Organdie pattern.....
Absomphe
You're kiln me, Glassy...

I don't collect anything as useful or constructive as that.

Mostly unusual rings, and other "smalls".

Our apartment looks like a nicely layed out antique shop, though, thanks to our bizarrely eclectic taste in decor.
Absinthe_1900
I collect too many things,.......my place looks like the last scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. blink.gif

HA!

Same here. Perhaps we have OCD. I seem to remember reading somewhere that collecting things is a symptom.

He looks inscrutable, but I can tell he's only pretending to be Chinese, because he won't show us his teeth,
Off. Jack Batemaster
Everything will be revealed to you very soon.
Absomphe
Please, not everything. 21210-7.gif

We're going out to dinner soon.

It is your fortune, not mine.
Absomphe
I have a fortune?

My magic eight ball just rolled around the floor laughing, like this laugh.gif

You must be confusing me with some other ugly, paunchy, half Jewish pagan, Mr. Sykes.
Fluffy G
Does anyone here speak japanese?

I've been looking all over for this tachikoma candy toy from megahouse , but can't find it for sale anywhere (except maybe on japanese sites?) Ebay is selling it for way too much bling.

Anybody know of a place I could get this?

I saw an anime movie once about a boy whose parents were killed in WWII, and he was trying to take care of himself and his little sister. Holy shit, that was the saddest movie I've ever seen in my life. I have no idea what it was called though.

Before that, the only anime I ever watched was "Love Hina," which is a funny, bizarre thing about a boy who turns into a girl when he gets wet.

Interesting and entertaining... definately different from the same boring american stuff.
Fluffy G
That's creepy xit Rimby.
How the hell did you get those pictures of my pimped out bachelor pad.

Festus

Sounds like you watched Grave of the Fireflies. Yeah that movie will mess you up. Lambchop will never be the same.

Oh my! I like this thread!

I happen to own the entire Urotsukidoji series (pushes glasses up on nose), but only the first, and original five or six, because the rest suck! The cartoon porn is great, but I really like the story line and the voice talent is the best I've ever encountered in anime.(perhaps because of what the voices are representing)

Spriggan is quite excellent.

FLCL is da bomb shit!!

And now, to redeem myself to all you "serious" folks out there, The Brothers Quay are totally cool. One of my favorites is the feature film, Institute Benjamenta. This movie rocks my ass because:

1. It is well made.

2. The story is based on a novel by an Austrian author, Robert Walser, entitled Jakob Von Gunten. The story is about a man whose dream it is to become a professional servant. To that end, he attends the Institute Benjamenta, where many strange things happen.

Robert Walser happens to be the main influence on another Austrian, named Franz Kafka. Walser writes with childlike wonder, had schizophrenia, and died in an asylum.

I have childlike enthusiasm for this book and this movie.
So forgive me if I am being obscure and pedantic.
CelticGent
anime still sucks.
