Full Version: Got Kubler 57?

So I acquired some so called Val De Travers Swiss La Bleue from an undisclosed source (no, not Butty, 0pie, or Isuisse), and I'm suspecting it's watered down Kubler 57. However, I have no Kubler 57 on hand, and only remember the very distinct toasty flavour that Kubler 45 has, and this La Bleue has that same flavour and aroma in spades.

If anybody has 100ml of Kubler 57 they'd be willing to trade for this La Bleue, PM me and I'll send you some of this LB in exchange for the Kubler. It would be interesting to do a side by side comparison, and find out for certain if this is but yet another La Bleue scam...

The more absinthes I try, the more I think La Bleue is the holy grail, BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING MYTH!

Another La Bleue sham.

Sad.

You can just peel the label off a bottle of White Fairy, and pretend it's a bottle of "uncolored Swiss absinthe".

With the selection of "hand crafted" product out there, I can't see buying any "uncolored Swiss absinthe" unless I was right at the source, and the price was reasonable.

Fairy tails look prettier than they taste!

I was surprised as well, as the source is fairly reputable. The price was also reasonable (60 Euros), which is in line with what most people say LB goes for in Switzerland.

Perhaps it isn't a scam, and it did have some good points (very flavourful fennel).
But the fact remains that either someone watered down Kubler, or someone inadvertently made exactly the same absinthe Kubler does complete with the same mistakes.

Well then, perhaps Kubler is based more on an AUTHENTIC SUISSE LA BLEUE recipe than we had previoulsy thought.

After a side by side comparison by a reputable imbiber, I am inclined to believe this LB is not watered down Kubler 57, although it smells similarly empyreumatic to my nose.
I do believe they use a similar recipe to Kubler, but the process may be better and the fennel is superior.

In any case, perhaps an affordable LB alternative to the Princess of Paranoia is finally on the way...

"Dryland is a MYTH!"

-"But how can you be so sure?"

"Because I have sailed further then most people have dreamed, and I'VE NEVER SEEN IT!"

I get a lump in my throat every time I hear that.

Are you quoting Waterworld?

I'm hoping not because that means that I actually remembered something from Waterworld.

was waterworld as good as solar babies?

Yes, but not as good as Space Truckers.
