This is the stock of absintheorama as of today. Still have 6 more cuilleres in transit as well as some very nice glasses.

Raindog

Very nice!

This thread always reminds me that I need a better-paying job.
Louched Liver
What the fuck?
You work?
You are always here.

In between restarting my computer
constantly, I'm always online for work.
Maturin
Just arrived. I'll have to put it to the test tonight! glass.jpg
Louched Liver
Bet it leaks.

You know... I don't have any 'leaky' period spoons. Mine are mostly all Frenchman repros.

Glasses... no original ones.

The only thing original I have is a Pernod Fils unlabeled bottle (1880-1910), a nice, unused Edouard Pernod label, a french 'menu' plate featuring Absinthe...

That's it.

damn, that text looks like crap! Sorry folks!!!
Nolamour
My newest gift from a friend.

She knew I wanted a cool bottle to put some "leftover" or special liquids in and I got this killer green blown glass container.

Obviously not the traditional Absinthe Carafe or whatever, but I love it.
Raindog
Very nice Coonass, any idea of what it used to contain?
Nolamour
Nossir...she wouldn't have asked anyway.

"Hey, it's a pretty green color...I'll take it" - and so forth.
lysistrata
There was one almost exactly like that on eBay last week Nola; I thought it was the same one for a moment. The eBay one said "absinthe" on it (could have been added later, hard to tell from the photo). Anyway, it was a UK auction, seller had a minimum bid of .99 (around $1.90) & it still didn't sell!

So, if you're looking for a matched set, I know where to direct you.... wink.gif
Nolamour
Thanks Lystie,

Glad to know it's such a valuable item...I may need insurance.
Le Gimp
Ok, I'm taking over all the posts.

All the posts belong to me!

I like this photo:

Cros,
That photo would look even better with a little absinthe in the reservoir and a spoon across the top! yes1.gif

Finally have something to display the spoons in.

I wanna scratch your collective eyes out, that stuff is so pretty.

eBay is a treadmill to oblivion, or maybe I haven't figured out the right search terms. I have nothing to show for hours of trolling but repro spoons and a snarly disposition. Most recently, I stumbled across a fountain touted as vintage, although the seller wouldn't specify what vintage. To my untrained eye, the thing had Marv's Hobbyshop written all over it.

In her blurbs, Butty says she'll hunt things down for you on her trips abroad. But I'm feeling big-time Butty-shy since joining this board.

The divil take the hindmost.....I need to save my bucks anyway.
Crosby
As a member of this board once said, Butty wouldn’t know a fake spoon if it walked up to her at a party and introduced itself.

A braver spoon than I...

Lystie, I love it.
It's like a little bouquet of spoons.
Just in time for spring.
DGLeadbetter
I'm in dire need of one of those spoon holders ....

I thought the devil went down to Georgia?

DG
Le Gimp
"The devil was White Lightning and White Lightning was the load."

First movie I remember with Robert Michener in it.
DGLeadbetter
What movie was that?

Got it ... thanks for the info.

DG
Kirk
Uh , that would be Robert Mitchum.
Louched Liver
Thanks for unSpucking that.
Le Gimp
Oops. Yes.
Le Gimp
Color cover for a B&W movie. Typical. Unless they colorized it. I've not seen many colorized movies that looked better than the original B&W.
atomicvibe
*points waaaaaaayyyyy up there-----^*

Ummm...nice antiques. Wish my pockets were a bit deeper.

OK...now back to your regularly scheduled thread derailment.
CelticGent
no
Raindog
I like this one....
DGLeadbetter
That's one of dem new antiques, huh?

DG
Raindog
It's a classic.
Le Gimp
Ha..ha..ha.. That is great!

I got two spoons on order (big deal) and hope to make a fountain after they arrive and I get some measurements on my glasses.

The custard cup full of ice water just doesn't do anything aesthetic for the process.
Crosby
I think I've seen that glass on Oxy's site.
Kirk
I was bored last night
I made this sterling grille.
I made a spoon too.
This is a scan, I haven't taken any pictures.
