Call for all,
and find myself lonely.

Should I dare share the next aescetic level of words?

Infused with spirit these words are led astray,

Are these words mine or merely channaled through my mind?

It is hard to feel propriety when you do nothing but grasp a liquid urn that speaks the word. -Slake

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on the board. I'm up in CanuckyFuckyLand and after ordering a few different absinthes from EuroFuckyLand, I decided to try making my own. ...I distilled using a homemade still consisting of a pressure cooker and some coiled copper tube as condenser.
...The only problem I encountered was that the first 100mL of distillate had a bizarre looking black powder in it that I suspect is coming off the copper pipe. I filtered it out and it seemed OK so I added it to the product.

And Slake's incredibly eloquent response:

Not nesesarily Filtering removes particles, and nothing less. So if you are filtering a macerated product you are merely removing the floaters. After distilling the product has a purity not possible whith just filtering. Filtering is a part oif the process but not the final step, unless you are coloring the distillation.

Stoopid stoopid stoopid!
What the fuck does Slake's post have to do with copper powder coming over in the distillate? I think Slake is actually getting dumber, because he's drinking what he makes, and it's rotting his tiny brain away.

I've been reading the Princess of Paranoia's book (Absinthe: Sip Of Seduction). It's really good. Very informative, with lots of really nice color photos. Anybody else read this one yet?

hi,
i've been involved in an ongoing argument concerning the history of absinthe. From what i've researched, it was originally made by a french doctor, then adopted by another french man who eastablished the first company in france, and built the first factory in swizterland. Around 1800 the Czeckerland company La Boheme purchased the recipe from the french gentlemen and was the first to produce it on a huge scale. Switzerland evantually banned absinthe. The plant in france and the original company kept producing it. Does that original company in france still exist and still produce? I was informed that La Boheme makes the most original absinthe around, is this true? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,

It's been posted in another forum from someone in the know that this product(absinthe King of Spirits - Masque) is made by a Russian in the Czeckerland Republic using information he found on the internet (imagine that) and mistranslated anyway. It just goes to show that one can bottle almost any vile mixture, and so long as it has "Filterated Czeckerland Xit" printed on the label, someone somewhere will buy it.

Well, I'll be damned... someone who has a basic understanding of Czeckerland absinthe. Why is he at ABG?

This might take a few posts but I'm willing. I've been drinking commercial absinthe for about a year now and I've recently taken interest in making it myself. I've read most of the posts on this site and it seems to me the way to go about making my own absinthe would be macerating the following herbs:
One ounce dried chopped wormwood
One tablespoon angelica root
One teaspoon hyssop
One half teaspoon coriander seeds
One quarter teaspoon caraway seeds
One pinch cardomon pods
One pinch fennel or anise seeds
One liter vodka

in a sealed jar with a 4:1 alcohol(Bacardi 151)/water solution for about 10 days, then strain the liquid into a pot still I intend to make using a large pot, a skillet and a bowl. One thing I don't understand is how long should I distill the liquid and at what temp. That and does the recipe look ok? Any tips to increase the secondary effects over the natural effects of this essentially alcoholic product. Any help would be appeciated.

I would have to disagree with these posts'. I am not an expert on Absinthe, for I have only tried LaFee Absinthe. http://www.eabsinthe.com If you drink enough shots you are almost guaranteed to trip. I can't remember my personal experiences, but the people I was with did. They said I turned into someone else, I hit a brick wall, hit my best friend in the face, started chasing cars down the street, fell a few times on my head and didn't move. I couldn't remember any of these things, I woke up about 20 minutes later and felt like I could run a marathon. go figure, I have never had a drink do this to me. but who am I to say it makes you trip, I am no expert. I have no idea. It is suppose to be "the only Absinthe authenticated by the Absinthe Museum in France" and "prepared to a 19th century recipe to the highest standards" but does anyone have any additional info? By the way, what available brand has the most THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! level? Hi, I'm a new member here and thought I might introduce myself by asking a question.

My friends and I recently had a party where absinthe played a major role.

I know you guys are going to think this is crazy but in our drunkenness we decided it might be fun to light our farts on fire.

This isn't the first time our group has engaged in this kind of tomfoolery, so we were very surprised at what we discovered. It seems that absinthe farts burn with a yellow flame.

Yes, it's true, I can send you pictures of my singed scrotum to prove it.

The question is could it be the THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! that is causing the effect? Does anyone know the color of the THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! flame?

This could prove an effective and entertaining way of measuring the THUJONE!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING!!!!-this stuff has nothing to do w/the buzz from absinthe, NOTHING! content of a particular absinthe.

I hope someone can answer my burning question.

OMG!!!! I thought I was the only one. I'm so thankful I found this site. No kidding, I find that if I drink on an empty stomach that it really does make a yellow flame.

The question is, could there be some link to this and the Czeckerland fire ritual?
