There have been problems with German Vendors attempting to ship absinthe to CanuckyFuckyLand...

You guys are just in a bad spot.

Maybe you should look to a local vendor... wink.gif

I would if they accepted C anadian funds. 1poke.gif $US=$CDN DG.gif

LOCAL ie. in country. sheesh fish.sml

... and I think we Americanians are starting to feel the bite of poor exchange rates. US- Euro (ouch). The price of absinthe has gone up almost 25% in the past couple years.

i think he's talking about a fellow hoser who charges in US$.

(dinky - it takes $200 Hoser to buy $150 American)

The nice things about the Frenchman are:
1) prices quoted are in dollars & include shipping
2) even when currencies fluctuate, his prices don't (I've been buying from him since November, prices have remained constant)
3) great responder to e-mails
4) interested in a spoon too? E-mail him & you'll probably get a really good package price.
5) sends you a nice PayPal invoice, paying him couldn't be easier. (OK, I know there's a bunch of PayPal haters here, I find this convenient myself)

If you just want 1 bottle or 1 bottle & a spoon, the Frenchman is currently your best bet.
DrinkSlinger
I purchased the 6 pontarlier glass/spoon set from him. Quick shipment, good packaging, I give him the thumbs up.
GreenSpark
Oh, thanks.

Draught Guiness?
Pilsner Urquell?
Ceske Budejovicke?
Gordon's?

I mean -- even canned Jupiler and (god forbid) Stella Artois is better than Bud.

Only Heineken seems to suck rocks through a straw as strongly as Bud.

Never had "Miller Genuine Draft" with isomerized hop extract, eh 6er? The stuff is simply bad.

Yea PU is great if you can get it without it being light skunked. Old belgian doubble beats BudMillerCouos any day of the week.

Youngs Doubble Chocolate Stout is another good beer.

I agree. I had my first one with chocolate cake. Good combo.

Pilsner Urquell is one of the worst beers I've ever had. Why would they bottle it in a light green bottle? It tastes like a hippie's armpit.

Coors Light is the worst. It tastes like a meat eating hippie's ass.
CelticGent
great.

You have a point about Pilsner Urquell.. You know that Aussie place next to Duck Island? Had one there. YUCK!

Is the reason draft beer is considered better because it has little chance to be skunked in transit?
Off. Jack Batemaster
Who knows...it is my opinion that Czeckerland's have absolutely no taste buds.

What Aussie place? No, I don't know. I know of one in Ballard, but that's a few miles away.
Justin
Of course they have no tastebuds. They burned them all of with flaming Filterated Czeckerland Xit shots.
GreenSpark
I enjoy Pilsner Urquell because it has a crisp hop bitterness. Mmmm...Hops

Hey, Sparky — generally, you'll want to confine to Smuttty's Place any imagery you wouldn't want your hypothetical mom, kids or boss to see. In Smuttty's Place, all's fair game. Heads-up.

I had a hypothetical mom ... always thought she was sick ... drove us nuts.

Well, the problem with Pilsner Urquell is that it sucks when it's in bottles (I assume they pasteurize it differently when they put it in bottles), and that I assume they've licensed the name and the recipe to others (just like Interbrew did with Stella Artois).

Pilsner Urquell *in Bohemia* is quite palatable, though. Not as good as even Ceske Budejovicke and certainly not as good as Regent, but god nonetheless.
