Could it be in what my bold ancestors called "Wineland", which as far as I know is somewhere in present day Canucky-Fucky-Land?
Oh, and significance: vikings being the first europyfuckylanders to cross the pond ... some 500 years before Columbus.

Where is Jean-Pierre going?
My name is Jean-Pierre Dubois. I was born just outside of Paris, November 22nd 1869. I’m celebrating my 19th birthday today in a most inglorious manner. It’s 6:30pm and I’m at a café enjoying a glass of Absinthe as I usually do at this time. I recently finished my course at Charles Gleyre art school, but I’m afraid that my interests have dramatically changed course. Besides, around me all the talk lately is of this Van Gogh and Toulouse, Toulouse, Toulouse. I suppose if I kept with the people that he does, I’d have a bit of a reputation as well. No matter.
As I sip my Absinthe, I read my copy of The Times that I brought along, although it’s a month old. I had it sent to me by my good friend, John… ah well… old news is …
Alors!!! Qu'est ce que c'est??? Un fou…
Hmmmm…
Ce montant d'argent est bon.
I have to go… it’s not just the money… this is something serious!
A hint...

With the picture you just put up, it looks like he already made a deposit, so I guess he's not going to the bank.
Maybe to the doctor for a shot of penicillin? Er, no, penicillin wasn't discovered yet.
I know! He killed a prostitute and is going down to the casino to gamble!
I can't wait till I get to Vegas next week!

All depends on whether I make it to LCLF in April, and whether I decide to move a LONG ways away or am still stuck in the armpit of the US at the time. Really gonna try, though!!!
Maybe a sabbatical is in order...?

I just received the prizes.
Great

. But you shouldn't have -- the postage cost you fortunes, I see.
If you were worried about the first prize because it Never has Twice the Same Colour, don't -- we Eurofuckylanders can manage those assets given recent equipment.

Great Prize! My best friend had the same one when I was a kid and I wanted one just like it. I used to play with his whenever I got the chance.

Yeah, I got Digit's prize last week, but I'm an asshole and didn't thank him till earlier this week.
I use my very cool new robot to proofread my posts before I send them.
Unfortunately he doesn't know how to spell very well, but he laughs at my jokes.
