I'm sitting here drinking a glass of "Tears of the Moon" pre-release, waiting on dinner and was reflecting on the last year or so and how so much has changed.
I gotta tell you, this lounge (and the one before) was a big part of 03 for me. I've also noticed how some of the catch phrases have now been adopted into my everyday conversation with friends. The favorite so far is "but you fook one goat ..."
This has become much like the bar in Cheers for me ... a place where I can come in, everyone knows my name and it just feels comfortable ... like home.
So before I get all mushy and sentimental, thanks ... all of you. It's nice to see how we car for one another, protect one another and give each other a lot of good natured ribbing. I hope to be a part of this community for a long, long time.

Norm!
I know I've only been here a little while but I enjoy being in the Lounge so much that I sometimes forget I have people to hang out with in my own town. I'm starting to find the bars a little boring because you people are far more entertaining.
That can't be good for the Phoenix economy.

Never seen anything like it in the

And I can't believe how many
great people I've met in the Real

I've been online since 1995 and I never once even looked at a message forum of any kind until I stumbled upon LFV and then the Lounge. And I am just about the last person to join in anything but I just couldn't help myself here.
My friends can hardly get me to go to a bar on the other side of town and yet I'm looking for a plane ticket to Seattle right now.

I spend way too much time here.
Even now, when there are heavy demands on my time,
I find myself creeping in to see what's up every chance I get.
Why?
It's almost guaranteed that someone will have said something
that amuses me or provokes me in some way, and
I wouldn't want to miss anything real if it comes up.
Everyone I've — how do you say — "looked the fucker in the eye," so far, has made me positively grateful I've had the opportunity to meet him or her. Want to guess how often that happens in my regular routine?
Someone smart told me the other day that I've found my crowd.
He was right — just when I thought I despised all crowds.

I don't think I'll make the LCLF but the LF04 is a definite possibility. I don't want to carve anything in stone because you never know what'll happen but, I think me and Greyboy could take a road trip to A'town. Hope to see a lot of you F@#^!#$^uckers there. I know I don't get to post here much any more and it probably doesn't really matter, but I do enjoy lurking around when I'm working. My business has been flying lately and I'm glad for that...not to mention the current engagement. My time is spent.
In addition, I've only met two people from FV and that was a year ago...both very cool and very generous. For that I'm obliged.
I do hope one day to make one of the fests that pop up so very often, but until then I will try to build my knowledge and continue to collect some good bottles...for when I have the time.
With some of the good stuff I have in the liquor cabinet, I'll have some nice contributions for any gathering.
Yea, I'm being fucking sappy, but I do want to thank everyone for your insight, insults, bashings, and munificence.

Xu-Xu, Abby,
Come to the biggie in July.
More time to save up, and it won't cost
much more to get to. Newark (EWR)
airport is cheap to fly into and nearby.
And, the Official LF lasts 4 days.
A.B. Normal
Feb 13 2004, 10:44 AM
I can get to LF04 free if I fly to my folks' place and then just borrow one of their cars and drive up. That's not my problem. It seems LF04 interferes with my busy season at work and my folks may not actually be at their place because of a family reunion in Minnesota (oofda!). I'm seeing if I can get them to come back early though. My extended family isn't really all that close-knit anyway.
