Ok, here it is once again !

After some discussions with an administrator of our beloved new and improved Louchedlounge, we've agreed that there will be some changes concerning the Giveaway and the use of this thread. Here's some explanations.



About the use of this thread :

First, this thread shall be used only to manage the free giveaway and to share tasting reviews of the Moonman's products but it shall not be used for commercial purpose.

That means I won't post announcements from the Moonman around here anymore. Moonman have a web site for this purpose, the link is in my profile and there will be a sponsor banner linked to it up there soon (as before) .

If a member ask questions about prices, availlability, how, where and when to get a bottle, I shall just point him to the direction of his mailbox and take care of it outside of the public forum. To make things simple, if you have a question of that sort, please don't post it publicly, send Moonman an email or PM me instead.


About the Moonman's giveaway :

As the official Absintheauthentique PR agent, I'll now take care of the giveaway.

At least twice a month, a free sample will be given to the member of my choice. It is totally free, it is a gift so there's no need for any official rules and it doesn't have to be fair.

What I'll really do is that I'll build and update a list of potential winners and draw a winner in that list. The list is mine and I'll keep it secret to keep everyone interested. Now how to get into the list ? Here's a few exemples of criteria that gives you more chance of getting on the list :

1- you never had the chance to taste Moonman's absinthes.
2- you've been an active forum member recently.
3- you've contributed constructive absinthe related material to the forum.
4- you told me *via PM or email* that you fill criteria #1 and are interested without being a boring sucker.

Once in a while I'll also just draw a winner amongst all members that have been active within the last 2-3 weeks prior to the giveaway just so that everyone gets a chance.

So, just to show a healthy dose of curiosity (though I hope to be able to fail your criterion #1 pretty soon), what *is* that absinthe with a beauuuutiful louche in your avatar?

I believe thats the Moonmans #26 if my "memory" serves me.

I already began to drink the first half-bottle of this young spicy tasty HG but I'll refrain from posting a complete review for now and will wait for other people to get it and make their own review.

Many people will taste it (it was a double batch), including a few past winners of the Giveaway so we will ear more about it later for sure.

I also plan to keep 375ml away of this one to send to the West coast louchefest.

That's pretty damned generous of ya Wolfgang, I have never tried the Moonman's absinthe... seems I have terrible timing(I blame the Staroplzenecky). I'll try to catch the next lunar phase.

This month, to celebrate the revival of the new Lounge (and because Moonman kept enough of his excellent #26 pictured in my avatar), Moonman will offer twice as much sample as usual, which means 1 sample every week in November !

3 samples will be drawn amongst those who have never tasted Absintheauthentique and 1 sample amongst all members.

I'm sniffing my third empty but still very peppery aromatic glass of #26 and contemplating the idea of pouring a forth glass *evil grin* out of the one and only bottle bottled so far (too bad I don't have a digital camera to post you a picture of the huge italian bottle containing the rest of this batch) !

I'm drinking the forth as I type. Those are more reasonable glass than the one pictured in my avatar, 1.25oz instead of 2.

Even then, it's still 5 oz of 70% alc/vol artisanal absinthe !


Hey! I woke up early this morning (which is very odd as I usually never see the light of that dreaded thing called MoRnInG) but at least it gave me a chance to be productive. I helped the Moonman coloring a batch and to clean an alambic and I drank 4 glass of absinthe in front of my computer screen WHILE petting my siamese cat !

It may only be 4 glass but I feel like it's not me smooking the pipe but the pipe is smooking me...

I've never been smooked by a pipe, Wolfie!!!! I'm sure Jack has, though.

Fluffy G and I recently smoked out of a crack pipe. It was crack in the pipe. Fluffy has the best crack.

Ok, back from the groceries... somehow it's been expensive... I have this tendency of having gastronomic tastes after a few glass of absinthe ! Now I switched to beer to match my girlfriend's mood when she's back from the office work... If I'm lucky, she'll be in a happy mood for this bottle of Beaujolais Brouilly vieilles vignes 2001 I got to match with the veal sauce au vin I'm about to cook.

I dream of the day when there will be an official absinthe distillery on the "Moon" where US and EU money is worth a lot, hotel are not expensive and where there will be a whole Moonman sponsored Louchefest and everybody will get a chance to taste the Moonman's fair... Until then, there's the modest Lounge Giveaway and small bottles sent to the other Louchefests...

I do my best to keep track of members who have not yet tasted any one of the Absintheauthentiques but I may miss some quiet and shy people so don't be shy and send me a PM/email about it once and I'll add you to my "this member should win something soon" list. Maybe I should add that if you've only tasted Moonman's 22 and before, you'r as good as a Moonman newbee ...In fact huge improvements have been done since #24. Well, it's always a work in progress.
